Sweden

The Swedish IGF is based on two pillars. One of the pillars is the “Internet days” – an annual multi-stakeholder forum on Internet related issues – which have been organized in Sweden since 1998 by .SE. The other pillar is the Reference Group for Internet Governance (RGIG), consisting of different types of stakeholders (government, private sector, civil society, academia and technical community) and led by the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS). RGIG, which was founded in 2007, meets three times a year to exchange information and to discuss and elaborate positions in different Internet Governance related issues. Discussions can take place and information be exchanged also between the meetings via the RGIG mailing list.
